The museum has some interesting exhibitions on energy, geology and natural history of Rwanda, as well as a garden showing a large selection of plants traditionally used for medicinal purposes in Rwanda.

What really set our visit apart though was our guide Frank (the guided tour is included in the entrance fee btw). He was extremely knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about the topics on display as well as many other topics of interest to us as travellers to Rwanda. We spent several hours talking about the exhibitions and Rwandan culture, history and society in general. He even gave us good pointers on what else to see and do later on our visit to this...

You are reading the review of a very curious person who would rather spend her day in a museum than at a party. The museum of Environment is rich. It is, I would say, the overview of different amazing locations in Rwanda. It perfectly illustrates the green colour of the Rwandan flag. It is a place you can go to not once nor twice or thrice but every single day of the week and still enjoy it. It not only tells you about itself but invites you to visit all the beautiful places that it displays in it's gallery. And there is even more! The only environmental museum in Africa! You will learn a lot about the unique geographic situation in Rwanda. The guided tour is for free and the staff is really competent. On the rooftop is a little garden with native Rwandan herbs. So if you are interested also in traditional medicine this is the place to be!

The museum is perfect for school classes. Reminded me to be on a field trip. Lots of things you already know from school. If you're interested in Rwandas geo-specifics and energy peoduction, it is interesting. Besides that, it has a lot of high school knowledge. Lots of local plants dosplyed there as well
