UPDATE: The quest for customer service
Dear Nevis Botanical Gardens Management,
Thank you for your prompt and enlightening reply. It's always refreshing to see a business take customer feedback to heart with such grace and dignity.
I must commend you on the visibility of your signageāclearly, it's so prominent that it became invisible to me. As for the multiple profiles accusation, itās flattering to think I have so much time on my hands that creating an array of alter egos is best.
Knowing that the many positive reviews outweigh a single personās perspective is reassuring. It truly highlights the broad spectrum of guest experiences possible under your attentive watch.
Thanks for the well-wishes in finding the assistance and satisfaction I require. It seems my quest continues!
Refused to be bullied by a liar and wonāt accept lack of transparency!
In response to the owner's comments, I feel compelled to clarify our experience at Nevis Botanical Gardens, as our initial feedback may have been misunderstood or misrepresented.
We approached the situation intending to communicate our concerns professionally. Our primary issue was the absence of signage or prior notice about the extensive event setup occurring on the premises, which significantly detracted from our visit. We were about to leave when we were stopped by a rude staff member, leading to a further exchange where we expressed our concerns about the lack of communication.
A simple acknowledgment of the oversight and apologizing for the inconvenience could have mitigated our disappointment. Instead, we encountered responses that felt dismissive and aggressive. It's important to note that our taxi driver, familiar with the local context, also shared insights about the garden's management style, which aligned with our experience.
Our feedback is intended to accurately reflect our visit, aimed at constructive criticism rather than disparagement. We have traveled extensively and rely on honest reviews to plan our trips, just as we believe others do. Therefore, we must share an accurate depiction of our experiences for the benefit of future visitors.
We sincerely hoped for a pleasant visit based on the promising images and descriptions we had seen but found the reality quite different. An apology and acknowledgment from the management could have significantly altered our perception post-visit. Instead, the approach taken only compounded our dissatisfaction.
We urge the management to consider the importance of transparency and courteous customer service, as these are fundamental to guest satisfaction and the reputation of Nevis...

As someone who passionately wanted to support this Nigerian-owned botanical garden, given that it is her late husband's family plantation estate, I insisted that my husband and I visit Nevis Botanical Gardens. I was swayed by the many glowing reviews and expected a lush, tranquil sanctuary. Unfortunately, our experience was anything but peaceful or pleasing.
Upon arriving, we were greeted not by welcoming staff but by an unattended reception area with no indication of when someone would return. This was just the beginning of our disappointing adventure. The so-called "botanical garden" felt like a neglected yard, offering very little except for two parrots and an overwhelming amount of construction noise that further detracted from the ambiance.
The monetary and time investment to get there was substantialā all of which felt squandered. What was supposed to be a highlight of our trip turned into a significant letdown.
The interactions with the staff, including the owner, only worsened our experience. Their responses to our concerns about the lack of signage and the ongoing construction were dismissive and rude. The owner, in particular, was aggressive, exacerbating our frustration and leaving us feeling insulted and belittled.
It pains me to say that the glowing reviews which led us here were misleading. This visit was a stark reminder that not all that glitters is gold. I cannot recommend Nevis Botanical Gardens and would advise others to save time and moneyāperhaps enjoy the beach or hike the mountainās natural...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDuring my recent visit to the small garden, I anticipated a serene and enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, the visit was overshadowed by issues with staff professionalism and honesty. While quaint and modestly maintained, the garden offers limited attractions that might not sufficiently justify the standard admission fee for some visitors.
Upon our arrival, we were surprised to find that part of the garden was being set up for an event. There were no signs or prior notices about restricted access, which added to our confusion and disappointment. The attendant was absent from her post without information on when she would return, leaving us unattended for about 30 minutes.
When we finally approached the attendant about possibly adjusting the admission fee due to the limited access and the ongoing setup, she dismissed our request. She misrepresented our intentions to the owner, inaccurately claiming we refused to pay.
This unfounded accusation led to an unnecessary and embarrassing situation. Instead of addressing the misunderstanding professionally, the owner accepted the attendantās misleading account without question and discussed this distorted narrative with other visitors, exacerbating our discomfort.
The staff's lack of professionalism and transparency significantly detracted from our experience, overshadowing what could have been a peaceful visit to the garden. Regrettably, the management did not uphold the expected customer service and clarity standard, especially in a setting that should promote tranquility and customer...
