Unfortunately, we felt completely ripped off by this excursion. The interaction with the dolphins lasted about half an hour. We paid around 200 USD for this excursion. We doubled checked via email upon booking if we could have a photo as it was our honeymoon and we wanted a memory to take home. We were advised to ask at the desk when arriving, which we did. They had 1 photo advertised for 45 USD or a family photo package which was around 170 USD. We explained we only wanted 1 picture as a couple, we didn’t want all the other photos and ‘family package’ 1 because we weren’t a family and 2 we had already paid a lot for the excursion on its own, and 3 why would you want all them photos? The lady said that it would be ok to have one photo. When photos were being taken we were denied by the lady photographer as she said we needed to pre pay for the package, and we could only have 1 photo each separately. I was not happy with this and raised my concerns and spoke to the supervisor, staff were rude and not helpful, it completely ruined the trip. There was no need for a big deal to be made, she should have just took the photo and then we would have bought it. This drew attention to us within the group we were in making it uncomfortable. After the excursion had ended and we went in to the reception/gift shop, we were then told ‘if your willing to go back into the water you can have one together with the dolphin but it will be 60 USD’ after all that….. we did not proceed with the offer out of principle due to the hassle they caused, and also being so greedy! The bus was also on the way to collect us so it would have made us late for that. I am utterly disappointed with this, and for the rudeness and facial expressions being pulled by the photographer towards me and my husband. I will not be recommending to...
Read moreOur time at Dolphin Encounter (St kitts) was a Christmas present for our family. We had 15 of us... and our time with Guia and her handler was amazing. He was very patient with our group (we had 4 little people ranging from 2 - 5 that needed a little extra coaxing). And at the end even allowed for me to stay on the platform and to hold Dante instead of swimming out away from the wall. Our excitement soon ended.... we headed in to view our pictures.... and although there were several pictures that were ones that we would have purchased.... was told that they were 40$ each ! and that because there were 15 in our group that we could buy the cd for (get this!!! $600 ! NO THANK YOU! seriously?! that is absolutely craziness! And the attitude that the gals in the office gave us when we asked why the price was so high was insane. I can normally handle rude people, but to be told "I guess you get to go home with memories... is RUDE" I left there in tears... with NOTHING to show that we did the excursion... except for the memories in our heads.(Do you know how hard it is to not even have ONE pic to show the grandkids that they did this?! I was hoping to be able to frame each of their pictures to give them as a keepsake). Now tell me... how are the 2- 2 yr olds going to remember doing this ?! There wasnt even an option to buy a postcard of the dolphins... or even a certificate given to us saying that we were there. If the pictures were DECENT priced, and the option of something to take home that isnt sky high in price... this excursion would have gotten 5 stars. ! ( oh and... by the way... how are we supposed to add a picture? we cant take our cameras to...
Read moreThe instructions provided telling us where the shuttle was picking us up was wrong. We finally find a man holding a small white sign for our excursion. We stood outside in the heat for 45 minutes waiting for the shuttle. We get there and are given instructions on what to do while in the water with the dolphin and are told absolutely no phones or cameras. We are provided life vests that are too small. They have an abundance of vest but hand out vests way too small. Several family photos are then taken which we all think is included with the price of the excursion. We get into the water and have a great time meeting the dolphin. During our encounter multiple photos are taken of each family member capturing this wonderful experienc2. Then we head inside where we can see our photos. Here we go! We are offered different levels of photo packages. I cannot remember them all but one photo of one individual was $45. If more than one person is in the photo the price goes up. Even if it's an adult holding their child. We are a family of four and we're offered the $45 for each photo or the digital file of all 50-60 photos taken for $250. A family of 6 was over $300. So $350 for the excursion and then another $250 if I would like the digital copy of the photos, to remember the trip, uploaded to my phone. We then waited another 45 minutes waiting for a shuttle to pick us up. The poor shuttle service and time spent are still worth the dolphin experience. However, feeling like you're being strong armed into purchasing photographs to remember the experience for an outrageous price is extremely...
