There are photos online of this place in its heyday, with people, plants, shops, a tourist centre, greenhouses bursting with plants. The reality is quite different! This is a mostly abandoned (but cared for in abandonment) wasteland with empty buildings, derelict greenhouses, with great views and clearly a few bits of agriculture here and there. Charging $5 (US) each to see this derelict is, to be honest, daylight robbery. The only people who visit are idiot tourists, like us, off the standard ‘tour’ route (because they certainly don’t take anyone there….for a reason!)
Save your money, buy a couple of cold Carib beers, and look at pictures on the internet....
