Chocolate making was pretty good but the waiting was too much. Arrived at 11:30 but they weren’t quite ready. Waited until 11:40 where it then started raining heavy. Then tried to wait until rain cleared until 12:20 by which time we were given umbrellas to walk 10 seconds around the corner to a sheltered area where the chocolate making had been moved to. Why wasn’t it just put here in the first place? Why didn’t it start at 11:30 like planned? The weather report clearly said rain was expected. Whole time waiting not much information given, no water or drinks or anything offered. Would have been perfect time to offer some home made hot chocolate and give us a little information but no…. Chocolate making was then good. Staff very nice. But then more waiting, 25 mins for chocolate to be ready. So about 90% of it was waiting in total, at $65 a head. Haha not worth...

One of the main attraction during the island tour, the Howelton Estate is a lovely place with a great panoramic view over the Castries. There is also a bar with a overlook terrace where you can see the panorama of the town. We had a taxi excursion with a tour of the island and this was one of the stops picked up on our tour which I can say is an interesting stop on the island. During the stop here we have been presented the process of batik and artisanal items manufacture, which uses wax and dyes to make beautifully patterned fabrics. There is a large shop as well where beautiful artisanal stuff can...

Expensive tourist trap. We made chocolate here the other day. The experience itself was pretty good except for the freezer not getting the chocolate frozen in a timely manner. The poor staff member kept apologizing but it was not his fault that your machines were faulty. The estate itself has been turned into an overpriced gift shop. Very disappointing for anyone who actually wanted to see a bit of history. Also, the history of this place was notably missing from our tour - a real bummer for any history buffs like my...

The website raises expectations but the actual estate is very limited. The views across to the north are excellent, but the 40 minute estate tour is closer to 10 minutes via the gift shop and 3 bits of studio workshop plus the verandah and view. The guide was very likeable as was the lady doing a chocolate making workshop, which again would otherwise have been pretty limited. I had expected to see more of the estate and maybe some more history. Worth a stop-off as part of wider view of the area but maybe not otherwise.
