Hands down the best beach on the entire island! Don’t waste your time going to sugar beach, it’s small and over crowded. Make the trek up and down the rocky road for a private, clean, peaceful beach with two shower heads to wash off, 4 bathroom stalls— which the bathrooms are very clean and very nice, and with its own restaurant. Order the burgers or fish tacos from the restaurant. The restaurant is ONLY OPEN from 12-3 so make sure you get the order in by 230. Chairs on the left side of the beach are $66 for the day, chairs on the right side are for the people staying at the resort. $66 for the day is steep but SO WORTH IT. There’s 8 umbrellas with 2 chairs a piece, the most people that have been here on the left side was 3 couples (including me and my husband). No foot traffic, no getting hassled by people wanting to sell you boat rides, or other tours. You’ll occasionally get a party boat pull up and they snorkel off to the left side of the beach. My husband and I have been here since Friday 8/8 and today is 8/14– we’ve been to the beach 4 days in a row paying for chairs everyday $264USD because ITS WORTH IT. We went to sugar beach, La toc beach, vidgie beach, humming bird beach, and reduit beach and we came back here everyday. The people at the gate knew us by the 3rd day “back again?😇” Please don’t waste your time going anywhere else!...
Read moreThis was a fantastic beach to visit. Parking is free in a dirt lot just outside the gate to the Anse Chastanet Resort. You walk in through the resort main road and just before you hit the main bar building stay to the right. Keep walking in and to the right and you will get on the resort beach. Walk to the end and you will see a path that turns into an access road. Walk down the access road until you hit another beach and you see the large ocean rock. The further down the beach you go the more outside of the resort banter you will be.
If anyone from the resort stops you and tells you to pay money, just tell them you are looking for the Anse Mamin beach. If you don't use their services, foods, bar, chairs, you DON'T have to pay anything. Just keep saying " we are trying to get to the beach only" This seems to bail us out of a lot of resort interactions, both here and other places around the island.
Snokeling in general is not great in St. Lucia, so don't expect a lot. The water, sand, and waves were all perfect here. The road down to the resort lot, like many places is an...

We’d heard horror stories about the road from Soufriere but we managed just fine in a Suzuki Jimny. Drive slow and use your horn so drivers coming the other way know you are there. The hill at the start of the road was the worst one due to its steepness, the rest of the road is a bit flatter and more bumpy than anything.
Park in the car park on the left as you arrive at Anse Chastanet resort (signed for visitors and hotel guests). The security guard was very helpful and told us how to get to the beach. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the car park on a gravel road.
The beach was nice and quiet, and lots of shade under the trees. You can also hire a lounger/food if you want. Very sandy beach without many pebbles, and the water was clear and warm, the sand shelves deep quite quickly so may not be the best for young children.
Don’t let the journey put you off, it’s...
