The feels I got after visiting Fort Duvernette was indescribable but left me feeling euphoric! This tiny island is only accessible via water taxi which you can hire near the boardwalk at the Leeward Highway. Immediately after arriving (if not before) a sense of excitement will engulf you. Trust me! It takes about 20 - 25 mins to get to the top ( that's of course if you stop to take a few pics). Once at the top, you'll find the cannons and some breathtaking views. You don't want to miss this and won't ever...

It’s an easy hop over by boat, probably 10 minutes. The water taxi will drop you off and come back to get you when you want. There are a lot stairs to get to the top but if you’re in decent shape it’ll be no problem. The view is definitely worth it. If you have someone in your group that can’t do stairs bring them anyway, there’s a great place to sit at the bottom and hang out. It’d be a great picnic spot too. Outstanding view. Also, bring your snorkel and mask,...

My wife and I swam here from our ABB on SV and hiked to the top. It's a spectacular view, and we had it all to ourselves. The previous day we had snorkeled all along the west side of Young island and decided we could make it there if we went for it. It's a big swim but no problem if you are comfortable in open water. Bring a floatation bubble for safety and visibility. The tragedy was that she lost her sun hat. It was 'tied' to her bubble; but is now lost to...

The steps are uneven so this isn't a great place to explore if you cannot climb stairs or get sea sick as you need to take a boat to get to the fort. The top has a beautiful view with a covered picnic table so bring a lunch. There are many cannons left from when the fort was in action. You can explore the island but be on the lookout because there are natural cacti all over the island but have been removed from the main path
