If you are heading out West or doing a lap of Savai’i, the Canopy Walkway is worth a visit. From the carpark outside the fale it is a short walk to the actual walkway. If you can climb a steep staircase or ladder, you can easily climb the entire structure to see the views. The view itself is partially obstructed by tree branches unless you want to climb the 1m tall tree trunk on the top platform (see pictures for comparison of view). From a safety point of view, everything feels stable and there are railings all around.

The Falealupo Canopy Walkway in Samoa offers a breathtaking experience, allowing visitors to stroll high above the rainforest floor and immerse themselves in the lush tropical surroundings. It's a thrilling adventure that provides unparalleled views and a unique perspective of Samoa's natural beauty.

The canopy walkway is closed but you can still go in the forest and look at the giant banyan trees, they're really impressive. You cannot go far however and need to be cautious as it's publicly closed.

Here there is a short beautiful forest walk with some signed trees. Yes the aerial walkway itself is closed as it is not safe but you can climb the 80 step spiral Aluminium staircase to get a better view of a mammoth Banyon tree that harbours several tree houses (also very unsafe to climb). The local ranger, Jacinta, lives in the house opposite the sign (and shed housing pots of new trees). Note the walk entrance has now moved from the previous track by the Primary School. Jacinta is knowledgeable and a lovely guide. Cost is 20 Tala per person. Apparently the walkway is slated for repair...

Long drive for not much. 20 ft cable bridge made of scaffolding and ladders, and a 5 story hand made tree house you can see over the rain forest. Seems safe but it's just the village's best efforts. No OSHA here... So who knows.

Price includes follow on activities... which are totally not worth driving for another 45 minutes on dirt/sand...
