The Mountain of Malika (Jabal Malika) holds profound significance as the site from which Allah dispatched angelic forces to aid the Muslims during the Battle of Badr. This sacred mountain witnessed the descent of Jibraeel (عليه السلام) with 500 angels on its right slopes and Mikaeel (عليه السلام) with another 500 on its left, their heavenly presence turning the tide of battle. The Prophet (ﷺ) himself pointed toward this mountain when comforting Abu Bakr (رضي الله عنه), describing his vision of angelic cavalry emerging through dust clouds in fulfillment of divine promise. Historical accounts describe how warriors near Malika heard the whip cracks of invisible riders and saw enemies mysteriously fall with distinctive wounds - their faces turned green as if poisoned, their bodies bearing burn-like marks unseen in human combat. The mountain's slopes became the staging ground for supernatural phenomena, including the Prophet's (ﷺ) miraculous throwing of dust that Allah transformed into a blinding storm against the Quraysh. Today, Malika stands not merely as a geographical feature but as a living testament to Allah's intervention, its very stones echoing the moment when celestial warriors descended to earth. For pilgrims and historians alike, this mountain serves as a tangible connection to Islam's most dramatic demonstration of divine support, where the unseen world visibly shaped human destiny. The Battle of Badr's legacy remains inseparable from Malika's slopes, where the boundary between earthly struggle and heavenly assistance...
Read moreThis is Jabal Malaikah which is located next to Katheeb al-Hannan. It is from this mountain that the angels came to assist the Prophet (ﷺ) and the Sahabah during the Battle of Badr. The Prophet (ﷺ) raised his head and said cheeringly: “O Abu Bakr, glad tidings are there for you; Allah’s victory has approached, by Allah I can see Jibraeel on his mount in the thick of a sandstorm.” Then he recited the verse of the Quran: “Their multitude will be put to flight and they will show their backs.” [54:45] 500 angels came to the right side of the army, led by Jibraeel (عليه السلام). The Prophet (ﷺ) sent Abu Bakr (رضي الله عنه) to lead on the right flank. On the left side of the army, there were another 500 angel, led by the angel Mikaeel (عليه السلام). The Prophet (ﷺ) sent Ali (رضي الله عنه) on to that side to also lead the angels. In every battle, Allah (ﷻ) sent angels for the comfort of the Prophet (ﷺ) and the believers. However, the only time the angels actually fought in the battlefield was in the...
