Tour to Jabal Ikmah is part of the Dadaan and Imkah tour which needs to be pre booked on experience alula app or on website available at 60 SAR person. I visited Hegra and Dadaan tours along with my family and the experience of Hegra was something incredible. Of course, Dadaans have the history before Nabateens or Hegra civilization and believed to have existed from 7the century BCE upto 1st Century BCE. They used to live in the residential houses near by these mountain and their main occupation was agricultural. They dug few wells and carved rectangular tombs or graves inside the mountain and there are about 7000+ of these present in this area. Jabal Ikmah is located at a different place and has many inscription 2D and 3D ancient writings and pictures that show their existence in those times. Tour guide lady was very helpful to describe everything in English language. We get to make the inscriptions on the rocks at a small workshop at Jabal Ikmah. جبل عكمة - العلا

جبل عكمة هو أحد أبرز المواقع الأثرية في منطقة العلا شمال غرب المملكة العربية السعودية. يُعرف بـ”المكتبة المفتوحة” بسبب النقوش والكتابات التي تزين صخوره، والتي توثق الحياة الاجتماعية والدينية والسياسية للسكان القدماء في المنطقة.

الموقع الجغرافي • يقع جبل عكمة على بعد حوالي 5 كيلومترات شمال مدينة العلا. • يمتد وسط منطقة جبلية تتميز بجمالها الطبيعي وتاريخها العريق.

يعتبر هذا الجبل جزءاً من تاريخ وحضارة مملكة لحيان، وهو أكبر مصدر معلومات عن الاقتصاد والتجارة والخراج والضرائب في مملكة دادان. يُردد أن فيها آلهة تُدعى "ذي غيبة"، ويعتقد أن اسمها جاء من صاحب الغابة لخصوبة أرض دادان. يرى الدارسون لهذه المنطقة وجود آثار أساسات معبد قديم. هو عبارة عن منطقة جبلية ينحدر منها وادي ضيق، وهو ذو لون داكن يميل للون الأحمر، وشاهق الارتفاع، يضم العديد من الكتابات اللحيانية على الواجهات الصخرية في الموقع، وتوثق هذه النقوش والكتابات تاريخ مملكة لحيان وحضارتها وتفاعلاتها المجتمعية وعلاقاتها الخارجية وتنظيماتها وقوانينها الداخلية، وهي قريبة من موقع الخريبة الذي عاشت فيه دولة لحيان. وجبل عكمة ، جبل شاهق، يميل لونه إلى الحمرة، يقع على بعد ثلاثة كيلومترات شمال غرب مدينة العُلا. يعتبر مكتبة المملكة العربية السعودية المفتوحة، لاحتوائه مئات النقوش والكتابات على المنحدرات والواجهات الصخرية التي تعود أساسًا إلى الفترتين الدادانية واللحيانية. تحكي تاريخ المنطقة، والحياة فيها، خلال حقب تاريخية مختلفة، وتعد سجلاً موثِقاً للحضارة اللحيانية التي ازدهرت في الجزيرة العربية والشرق لفترة تاريخية ليست بالقليلة.
