Read moreNeat and clean, small friendly airport. However no place to sit and wait at departures pre check in, unless you go through security. The 2 waiting areas past security are a bit confusing. There is no free WiFi, which hopefully will be made available to international travellers (who don't have roaming or a local sim), once the airport is more established. Would welcome a place to have a coffee or juice at departures. They were unable to check me in for my onwards flight with Emirates, from Dubai and give me my boarding pass, although it was booked as one e ticket. They were however able to check my luggage through to end destination. This was a very stressful experience, and even more so, as due to myself not being able to speak arabic, and the ground staffs english not that good, communication was difficult. I trust in time that this brand new little airport will be great. Awesome one doesn't have to fly to Tabuk anymore, and then take the long dangerous road through mountain the pass, to...

The immigration process is a nightmare, there is one giant queue, no working smart gates, and for residents of ksa it's literally the worst possible experience waiting upward of an hour to clear a small commercial aircraft.
The customs process is yet another major flaw, again getting on one giant queue that doesn't move.
I am not sure this airport really models a progressive new world, as Neom claims to be. Instead of their clear investment in huge digital walls, maybe they should invest more I'm the customer experience and fix their...
