Memorial complex near Užice Kadinjača testifies about the days of the November 1941, when members of the Workers Battalion of Užice Partisan Detachment, which was commanded by Andrija Đurović, provided fierce resistance to far superior German enemy, who at that time carried out offensive against the liberated territory "Republic of Užice". Workers Battalion brave fighters were killed in the battle of Kadinjača on 29 November 1941. German forces broke through the last defense of free Užice, but the heroism of the hero remained remembered in the years that followed. The complex is a complex architectural museum form, which comprises the segments built between 1952 and 1979 year. In the first phase, the 1952, Kadinjača the monument was erected under the pyramid shape which is the crypt where lie the remains of members of the Workers' battalion were killed during the Battle of Kadinjača. Significantly expanding and complex expansion occurred in 1979, when, by project whose authors were sculptor Miodrag Živković, and architect Aleksandar Đokić, ended its arrangement whereby he received its present appearance. The entire memorial complex was officially opened by the President Josip Broz Tito on 23 September 1979.

Memorijalni kompleks Kadinjača se nalazi na 14 kilometara zapadno od Užica, na pravcu Užice - Bjelovar. Podignut je u čast boraca Radničkog bataljona koji su poginuli nedaleko od lokacije spomenika 29. novembra 1941, štiteći odstupnicu glavnini partizanskih snaga koje su se povlačile prema Sandžaku iz oslobođene teritorije zvane "Užička republika" pred nemačkom ofanzivom. Većina boraca Radničkog bataljona, sačinjenog mahom od neiskusnih boraca, radnika i zanatlija, ostavila je svoje živote u borbi sa višestruko brojnijim i obučenijim neprijateljem (nemačka 342. divizija), pritom mu nanoseći neznatne gubitke.

Prvi spomenik, Spomenik-piramida ispod koga se nalazi kosturnica sa ostacima većine palih boraca Radničkog bataljona, postavljen je 1952. godine. Na ovom spomeniku se nalaze ploče sa stihovima iz pesme "Kadinjača", Slavka Vukosavljevića.

Godine 1979.godine Josip Broz Tito otkrio je novi spomenički kompleks, kada je i Radnički bataljon odlikovan Ordenom narodnog heroja. U autentičnom prostoru bitke na Kadinjači idejno rešenje monumentalne spomeničke kompozicije i zgrade Spomen-doma dali su vajar Miodrag Živković i inženjer arhitekture Aleksandar Đokić iz Beograda.

Skulptorsko rešenje spomenika dato je u vidu pokrenute kompozicije, koju sačinjava niz elemenata različite veličine i oblika, koji uklopljeni u konfiguraciju terena simbolišu ljudski otpor. U sklopu spomenika su tri celine: Amfiteatar Užičke republike, Aleja Radničkog bataljona i Plato slobode. U parku je postavljeno više autentičnih komada raznih vrsta artiljeriskog oruđa korišćenih tokom bitke na Kadinjači.

Spomenik je tokom 90-ih godina prošlog veka duže vremena bio zapušten i neodržavan. Stanje kompleksa je delimicno unapređeno tokom 2005. godine, a potom je i sam spomenik konačno saniran 2012. godine, po projektu Zavoda za zaštitu spomenika kulture iz Valjeva.
