The House on the Drina is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the country. As soon as you arrive at Belgrade Airport, this house is already there to greet you. I had the chance to visit this site at the end of August. This is one of those cases where the story of its creation, the meticulous restoration, and the effort to return the house to its rocky perch carry far more significance than the site itself. The viewpoint offers an excellent view of the house, the bend of the Drina River, and the massive fish leisurely resisting the current. If the trash were removed from the water, the shoreline cleaned, and the dumping of waste directly under the viewing platform prohibited, it would be much better. The site is interesting, but the infrastructure is lacking; hopefully, it will improve someday.

I visited the iconic Drina House at the beginning of August, and it was a truly enchanting experience. The low tide revealed the stunning beauty of this unique structure perched on a rock in the Drina River. Surrounded by lush greenery and clear blue waters, it felt like a scene from a fairy tale. The atmosphere was serene, and I loved how the house stood as a symbol of resilience against nature's elements. Boat tours were readily available on-site, offering a fantastic way to explore the river and admire the house from different angles. If you're looking for a picturesque spot that perfectly blends nature and creativity, the Drina House is a must-visit. I highly recommend taking the time to soak in the beauty of this remarkable location!

Drina River House is a little wooden House built on a rock in the middle of the Drina River, near Bajina Basta town in Serbia. It was built by a group of Swimmers in the year 1968 to take shelter. It was destroyed several times due to high water level in the River, has been rebuilt every time. There is a restaurant nearby which gives very good view of the house. The view of Drina River House with mountains on one side is quite nice. Visited it during tour/transfer from Sarajevo to Belgrade.

The most striking house in Serbia! In 1968, Milija Mandić, with the help of a few friends, built a modest wooden house in which many pupils and students from Bajinobaštani spent much of their summer holidays. The location in the middle of the sometimes unpredictably wild Drina is risky, as evidenced by the many destruction; In 2010 the house was destroyed for the seventh (and for the time being) last time (and in 2011 it was rebuilt again).

Very relaxing spot to have drinks, lunch, or just to snap some pictures. There's restaurant and coffee shop facing the Drina house. This place will be included if you took a day tour of Western Serbia. Interesting backstory on how the house was built in the middle of Drina River. The weather is lovely in spring. I was lucky to get some cool pics below.

One of the greatest place in Serbia is a small house on the Drina River 🤩 It is also the most photographed place in all of Serbia.. It is a house in the middle of the river built in 1968 by a group of swimmers who were looking for shelter after training. There is a house in the middle of the river and you can swim around it. A very nice place to see 🤩
