This place is every hiker's dream. Theres loads and loads hiking trails, i used AllTrails and Strava apps to check into paths and i was amazed. Literally every trail leads to a view point, theres many small streams, lakes and ponds you can refresh yourself in, average altitude is 750m, climate is fresh even on hottest summer days. Besides all that, you can visit many monasteries, churches, monuments of WW's for this region played a huge role in WW1 and WW2. National park is also a home for many bird species, bears, deers and other wild life so prepare your camera. Due to increased bear population it is NOT advised to leave the trail while hiking. Besides nature, accomodations are many, theres every type you might look for, villas, rest homes, camping areas(wild camping possible), motor parks, bungalow's etc. Very friendly and hospital local populace. Locals do also produce honey, sausage, ham, marmelade, alcoholic beverages so you can get a taste of really nice home-made things. The only reason i rated it 4* is because the prices are above average, it is worth the money you pay, but not recommend if you're...

There is so much to see you cant even know until you visit it. Its a great place where you can have peace and listen to the forest sounds. Birds, wind blowing through the branches, its just unbelievable. I recommend taking long walks and just take your time breathing the most cleanest are. Good luck on getting there the trip is pretty scary and the roads are not big enough, looking from my perspective. But when you are finally there...

Travelling in Serbia could be a really frustrating experience for non-Serbians, especially if you are looking for some easy trails and daily hikes, like we were. In that sense, the Tara National Park is an oasis. You can buy a detailed trail map (with English explanations) of the reserve (we got ours in Mitrovac), and from there on planing your hikes is a breeze. The park itself is gorgeous, with many marked trails and some really...

The 22,000 hectare Tara National Park has been located in west-central Serbia since 1981. The park consists almost entirely of a mountainous landscape that is intersected by deep gorges and three-quarters covered by forest. The Tara NP is home to the rare Pančić spruce. One of the best-known and most visited locations in the park is the Banjska Stena viewpoint.
