Read moreA wonderful cave, best known for the hall with large bathtubs and rich cave decorations in that part. It's great to see them. A stream (Trnavski potok) flows through the cave, so the cave shows its charms and beauty best during heavy rainfall. During the drought, the tubs are unfortunately empty. The entire cave system is 1,691 meters long. From the parking lot to the cave, there is a hiking trail that is a bit steeper (therefore more demanding) as you start to descend towards the cave. In several places there are rest benches and information boards with a qr code that unfortunately doesn't work (partly because there is no signal here and they don't work in general) so you walk around the cave without any information about it. You can buy a ticket at the entrance (pay in cash) or you can buy a ticket online. The kind and witty Mr. R told me several legends related to the cave and instructed me in details. A few tens of meters from the entrance on the left side there is a larger deposit of stones and soil called Dog cemetery (Pseće groblje). It got its name from the found mummified remains of dogs (there were also other animals) whose corpses were thrown by the locals through openings in the ceiling of the cave. In every sense, the visit to this place was beautiful and pleasant, and I carry nice...

The main attraction is a bit hidden (take the stairs going to the right section, and look for the smaller entrance, almost invinsible from the main path). Bring some warmer clothing. Summer clothes is not suffiiciant here, not even in August.
The outside path, leading to the cave entrance, is quite long and not easy to beat on your way back. Be prepare for 15-20 mins climbing your way back (assuming that you drove all the way down to the official parking. The alternative is to walk tje additional few hundred meeters, down the hill).
Google Direction (by the Aug 12, 2020), will mislead you! You will end up on a deserted parking lot, with no visible sign to help out. If you continue downhill (North?), in maybe 100 meters you will see a green sign, pointing to a small asphalt path that takes you directly to the official parking, where the path that leads to the cave starts.
Fruit juice and sugar-cooked domestic fruits are sold by quite high prices, but do not skip tasting this. It is truly natural, from fruits picked around here, and despite some sugar added, a true cure for...
