Step right up to Jagodina Zoo, where the animals seem to serve time in an old Soviet prison cell, minus the hour a day outdoor time. Here they have perfected the art of looking utterly defeated.
If you want to witness what genuine, soul-crushing boredom looks like, look no further. Here, lions and bears are crammed into cages so tiny you’d swear the designers were inspired by hamster habitats. Seriously, even the hamsters would be jealous of the pacing room these giants get. And that’s saying something.
The lion and bear, once mighty kings of the forest, look now more like the main characters of a very depressing reality show. You could practically see the life draining out of them, like they’d given up on hope years ago and were just ticking time until freedom or oblivion. No amount of shade could save their droopy eyes and tired postures.
As for their cages: tiny, cramped, and bleak. It's less “animal sanctuary” and more “outdoor sardine can.” Watching them shuffle back and forth in that limited space, the kind of pacing that would make a hamster blush, it’s clear these poor creatures are living a nightmare of monotony and neglect.
Water? Sometimes. Cleanliness? Occasionally. Compassion? Hardly.
If you want a zoo where the animals look like they’re auditioning for The Walking Dead: Wildlife Edition, this is the place. Otherwise, save yourself the guilt trip and skip it.
0 stars if I could give that. Because these animals deserve better than a glorified jail cell and a slow, quiet death of spirit. Unbelievable that this still...
Read moreThis is obviously the heart of Jagodina, its pride, it also says a lot about the peoples character who living here. DON'T DRINK THE WATER EXCEPT IF YOU BOUGHT IT YOURSELF IN A BOTTLE This place is an absolute disgrace. The animals are crammed into tiny, filthy enclosures with no regard whatsoever for their natural needs or well-being. It stinks – not just of neglect, but of exploitation. This isn’t a zoo, it’s a prison for innocent creatures, run purely for the amusement of people who clearly couldn’t care less about animals. Every detail screams ignorance, cruelty, and greed. Anyone who supports this hellhole is complicit in animal abuse. This one star counts for the fact they have an exit...
Read moreIt is right near the central parc and 2 minutes away from Aqua Park Resort. It is very clean, and nothing to say about, they are talking care of location. The birds and small animals have it good but not for the big fellas, like the 2 bears each one in his own cage, small ones, actually very small, it's more like a jail for them, not a good site. The same goes also for the lion, captivity at it's " best "! The two tigers have it better, their cage is the biggest one! The stars are just for the situation of how the big animals represent...
