Zavoj Lake is an artificial lake in eastern Serbia, on the Visočica River. It was created in 1963 after a major landslide which dammed the river and the natural dam was later replaced with a hydroelectric dam "Zavoj".

Beautiful lake, dirty and disgusting at the same time. Shame of Pirot municipality but most of all the people who live around the lake. It is so filthy that all of its beauty disappears into it. Even the welcome sign is filled up by trash. Plastic bags are stuck on the tree branches everywhere ruining the experience. Stray dogs are all over the place scattering the trash. The roads are unpredictable and there is a huge problem with illegal property building around the lake ruining the nature and obstructing what could have been an amazing view. This is an amazing place if you like untouched nature. It's great for camping, fishing and swimming. There is some private accommodations for little money. There is no fancy hotels and there is no much activities. Everything you can do is actually to relax and do nothing. Unfortunately, there isn't public transport.
