The sign caught my eye as I had not long come from the border crossing , so took a slight detour. A very simple but poingant museum built on the site of the start of the battle of Banita Nichola who explained to me all about the events that occurred here! He was awesome and we chatted about football amongst other things There is no English translations (not a surprise) You do not need long here ,but if you get the chance it is worth a visit The displays have some good artefacts and some very moving paintings ,depicting events form the battle Great views from around the building...

A nice park surrounding the Battle of Batina memorial museum. One of the biggest battles of WWII took place here. In November 1944 the Yugoslav Communist Army joined forces with the Red Army and crossed the Danube, fighting against the Nazis. Remember this bloody episode in history while enjoying the wonderful landscape of the Danube. A lot of our ancestors lost their lives here, fighting for freedom - for themselves then, for us...

Great museum of one of the biggest (if not the biggest) battle in world war 2 in Yugoslavia. Sadly this battle is almost fogotten. On Serbian side is museum and it is open. Nice view if you got on top of the building. You can also see across the river Croatian rooftops which are nice. You can see flow of the battle from 11th till 29th of November 1944 year with a display of weapons, uniforms, flags, decorations and personal items of the commander and fighters. Outside you can see other monuments
