Resavska pecina is located in eastern Serbia, in the area of Gornja Resava, 20 km from Despotovac. It is located in a limestone hill of Babina head on the edge of the karst field Divljakovac and at an altitude of 485 m. It is one of the oldest caves in our country, because it is 80 million years old, a senior jewelry is estimated at about 45 million years ago. Read moreOut of the many caves opened for tourists in this area, this one is the most commercialised. The tours can get crowded, so it becomes difficult to hear the tour guide. The tour itself consists mostly of walking and observing the cave on your own, as the tour guide gives very little information. Many stalactites are broken and laying on the ground due to carelessness while building the commercial passages, which would make most people who appreciate nature sad and angry.
The entree fee is 350 dinars per person and if you come by car, parking is another 100 dinars. (August 2021 reference.)
Caution: The stairs in the caves are very slippery on some places, so take very good care to not rush your step. If you're visiting in the warmer months, also make sure to bring a jacket with you, as the temperature in the cave is at around 8°C.
Advice: If you're in the area, at least two other caves offer guided tours: Lazar's Cave and Rajko's Cave. Both are much better preserved than this one. The first one offers a nice hike to two canyon viewpoints, while the second one offers a longer and more informative...

The cost is 500 dinars per person and 100 dinars for parking, cash is more preferred than card. The cafe only serves drinks, and there is a toilet next to it. It is definitely worth visiting, although the journey from Belgrade is not short. It is best to drive during daylight hours on the A1 motorway and then follow the signs.
