One of the worst hospitality experiences in Serbia ever. Just to clarify, actual staff working there was kind and professional, but unfortunately the manager overshadowed everything they were doing. We went there to talk about possibility of organising our wedding there and we did booking specifically for that and asked about details before coming. The moment we started talking about it with manager, he basically dismissed any possibility of that. He was saying how place is not good for more than 50 people inside and having outside is a big risk, and he knows that in September 2nd 2018 the wind was so strong, so it could happen for our wedding, too. BTW we planned our wedding for July, the hottest month in Serbia. And their website and Instagram are promoting weddings actively. Outdoors! The peak of the speech was him saying how we could rent pagodas to protect us from weather, but it is too expensive. He took it upon himself to decide that place is not good for us (or we are not good for the place) and what our budget was. Arrogance at it's finest! He left us for ages waiting for him to bring an actual offer that I insisted on after driving one hour to that place, did not speak a word of English with my fiance who is foreigner, even though he had to mention how they host customers as far as New York, and finished with telling me how I could have seen the offer online by myself. Just FYI, the place looks beautiful and I wholeheartedly support development of family owned wineries in Serbia and I understand that perfecting things takes time. Unfortunately, interaction with mentioned member of staff was so appalling that it's almost criminal. My recommendation is, look for other places that are just as nice without risk of being mistreated or insulted, no view or wine...
Read moreThe place and ambient is really nice. The place is easy to reach from Belgrade and Novi Sad but the road is quite bad. Overall experience is ok. The waiter explained that there is no paper menu, so he just talked us thorough it. I did find this a bit inconvenient as you are not aware of the prices. The waiter who was serving us was a bit arrogant, but I guess that goes with the place. The food was ok, we had three course meal with wine pairing. Mediterranean salad was not really tasty - avocado in the salad was hard and not ripe, and the salad itself was not really creative. Grilled haloumi was served with apricot jam and mint pesto which was good. Main course Veal (ispod saca) was good as well. Wine was not so bad, white wine Suma and red wine Pi were my favourite, but chardonnay was a bit of a letdown. I think it is an interesting place to try if you are in a neighbourhood. If nothing worth visiting for the location and...
Read moreAtelje vina Šapat was the reason we decided to drive from Ljubljana to the area near Novi Sad. It’s one of the very few Michelin-starred places in the region, and it was definitely worth the trip. The building is beautifully designed, with an idyllic setting and an unforgettable view over the vineyards.
They offer three different tasting menus, each with a unique focus: meat, fish, or experimental. The wine pairing features their own wines, introduced and explained throughout the dinner. After the meal, we arranged a visit to the kitchen with Nikola, as well as a tour of the wine cellar and their impressive wine archive.
We also stayed overnight. Breakfast was available (on our request) as a pre-arranged box, which worked perfectly. A big thank you to Andžela for the warm welcome, and to Marko and Uroš for guiding the whole experience with care and...
