This is the best high up, viewpoint that we found for visibility and assistance in knowing what we were looking at on Mahe, and really in all of the Seychelles. You’re looking north, overv the red roofs of Eden Harbor, and beyond, and on a clear Day you can even see Praslin and La Digue islands. Most helpful, there is a wide plaque, which I have pictured in the photos. It identifies every major island and spot that you can see in front of you. For us, having sailed out of Eden harbor north, and covered all the areas that we were seeing from this viewpoint, going here was a real treat. There are spaces for parking and you can also park along the side of the road if the spots are full. Unlike the Copolia Trail which leads to another viewpoint, la Misère has no fee to enjoy it. So this should be corrected on Google maps. We drove up, parked walked over to the viewpoint and spent a good amount of time there. And there is no one asking for a fee or collecting money.

The Mirante La Misere is simply breathtaking. It offers you a landscape view of the island and adjoining islands. You get to see Mahe Island laid out before you and it is one of the most picturesque places you would ever visit. The most prominent Island in view from Mirante La Misere is called Eden Island. It is a man made island on Mahe Island and it is home to some of the most expensive properties on the Island (word on the street is that if you purchase a home here, you can file to become a Seychelles citizen). Whenever you are in Seychelles, you need to definitely see the island from Mirante La Misere.

An excellent observation deck, a view point from a height that gives a spectacular view of Eden Island and the city. It has a map with labels of prominent spots and provides an unobstructed view. The spot/deck can easily be missed if driven at pace. There are no visible road signs to this spot, closely follow the map/GPS. Not enough rough for many people or cars at a time, probably 1-2 car/families. No ticket or entry gates to the same.
