Hotel 81 Cosy — Attraction in Singapore

A typical budget hotel. Building & room units' condition obviously run-down without any upgrade, improvement nor proper upkeep for ages. Given a room on 4th floor with elevator only going up to level 3 which means staircase to be climbed in order to reach room.Air Conditioning performance is OK. TV channels setting is OK.Cleanliness is NOT OK. Lots of long strain of hairs found on the floor & on the bed, even on the pillow! Dust accumulation at corners of the room. A patch of yellow stain (unknown substances) beside the water tap at bathroom wash basin. Utterly disgusting. Water pressure is pathetic, especially from bathroom wash basin tap. Very poor water pressure. Unacceptable. The only PLUS point is "location": Central & convenient for anyone to move around. There is a Maxwell MRT station (＜5 minutes walking distance) close by. A lot of affordable & tasty good local as well as other cuisine food can be found all around the vicinity (cafes/ restaurants/ coffee shops/ food court). I originally came to hotel 81 cozy as a stepping stone on my travels but due to circumstances I had to extend my stay for many weeks. The great staff here were happy to accommodate and were great, going the extra mile wheneven I needed their help. The rooms were serviced daily, are well kept and have all the ameneties you could reasonably expect from a budget hotel (TV, wardrobe, kettle, hairdryer, umbrella etc) and they even provdided an iron and ironing board when requested. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Hotel 81 Cosy to any person looking for a budget hotel in Singapore due to its great location and extremely helpful staff (Mizzy and William were always on hand to help in any situation). The area is extremely photogenic, it has fantastic restraunts and bars and the people are really friendly....

We came through Singapore for a few days on our way to other countries in SE Asia and settled on the Chinatown area. ||||Upon arrival the staff were very welcoming, we were early but they got us into a room anyway. The room was clean and fine for the price, basically what we expected.||||What really stood out though was the staff. They helped us with everything, especially Mr. Montree. He gave great suggestions on where to go, what ATM to use, gave us umbrellas since it was raining and much more. He really did go above and beyond, which is why I give it 5 stars.||||If you are expecting the Ritz, probably not your place, but you will get the 5 star treatment if he is working.
