I don’t normally leave any negative review, but feel compelled to this time. The quality has become really terrible. Molly’s is a traditional brand, but today, the kuehs I bought were so terrible in taste and quality. The ondeh ondeh has very distinct BITTERNESS in taste, and the texture is not cooked through aka HARD. The gula melaka inside is in a very weird light milky brown, a colour that I had never seen in an ondeh ondeh ever, and it doesn’t taste like gula melaka at all. I had to spit it out. I gave the shop hotline a call to feedback, they immediately quickly say they got the supplies from a supplier, not made by them. Wow, how is that my business? And Wow, so the kuehs are not made by your own factory anymore? No wonder they tasted so bad!
The lapis sagu (jiu ceng gao) is also very hard and the taste is very artificial, the taste of essence is too much, tasted like cough medicine gosh.
I am writing this negative review to try and wake whoever that’s managing the business now up. You are running a traditional, quality down to the ground and into the drain.
The kuehs I bought really tasted terrible, try it to believe it, and you will know what I mean.
At this rate, customers will never return ever again… it really is that bad. There goes a long-time, traditional brand….....
Read moreThis is the 2nd time I bought Nonya Kuehs from the shop. Molly’s is a small corner shop just across the food centre. There is a wide variety of Nonya kuehs, cakes, even baos. There are also different types of agar agar and drinks, packet nasi lemak wrapped in banana leaves are also sold. However, taste and quality of the kuehs are just so-so. In fact, there are many other market stalls that sell better Nonya kuehs. I have tried a few of the kuehs, and they are to the firm (hard) side which means pretty much of the kueh is glutinous flour with very little coconut fragrance, and for those kuehs containing glutinous rice, I felt that they weren’t cooked sufficiently long enough too, for the rice is also on the tough side. Though that being said, the price is actually very affordable for most people as it is considered to be on the low side. And in the vicinity estate, where many seniors reside, this is well within their budget, as the big players like Bengawan Solo is charging way more than a dollar for their kuehs.
Parking is pretty easy as there are many public parking lots around.
However, as I’m a huge fan of Nonya kuehs, so I’m really...
Read moreA great place with yummy kuehs and wholesale prices. I tried the pumpkin cake and yam cake and ang gu kueh (peanut) this week and were all quite tasty and fresh. I bought some ba zhang and just tried the nyonya one which tasted quite nice. The red bean dumpling and hokkien dunpling are bith yummy too. Also tried the authentic 9 layers kueh which is my favourite! And it only costs $0.50 per piece. If you mix 5 pieces of same price items, it will be $3.80. Cheaper if you buy 10 pieces across same price items. Will be back to try other items as they cannot keep for too long. Went back several times to try the tau sa pia - both the sweet and salty are tasty and fresh and ata bargain price of $0.50 each. It is even cheaper if you get in 5 or 10. Also bought the small white rice kueh (mini tao kueh) at 10 for $3.80 box. The skin is very thin and soft with fillings that are full of ingredients. The bite size version is really well thought and easy to eat snack, very convenient to take for small eater like me who cannot finish one big one in one go. Also tried the siew mai, quite yummy for the price. Also bought 5 otahs for $5 which is rather...
