If autism is a spectrum, this is the most autistic school i have been to. From teachers who make karens look sane, to a hall that is more concentrated than a concentration camp, and a cafe that is more overpriced than the diamond industry, it single-handedly managed to turn depression into a contagious disease passed through cohorts of students (slaves) , to a lifestyle equivalent to a 9 to 5 job. No words can describe my hatred for this abomination of a place. At first glance, this may look like your average school with a long history, but upon entering you'll realise it not only doesn't meet expectation, but subverts it completely. The teachers are actual frauds, the canteens prices inflated faster than the economy, even the library lost half its books. The concept of an 'integrated programme' is just a grand ponzi scheme that makes you overwork until 5 for 4 days a week, only for them to set the hardest weighted assessment of all time. If that wasn't enough, the school lacks more things than it has. The fundemental design and technology most secondary schools have? Gone. Functioning facilties? Never existed. How about the choice of CCA? More limited than the perception they want you to have about this "school". But what can you do? When you have no O-Levels to support you, the school can do anything in its power against you, as you have nowhere else to go. Read moreBEFORE CONSIDERING TO APPLY FOR THIS SCHOOL PLEASE THINK TWICE. At least for the IP side of the school, there is just mediocrity in the school system. Firstly, most teachers in the science departments can’t teach, they just read off the notes and expect you to self learn everything, ok we get it we are IP students we are “independent learners” but we need guidance too right? If not what’s the point of being a teacher when you can’t guide and help your students understand? In all honesty the other departments are fine in teaching. Secondly, the schools management is just horrid. Everything is done so last minute and so sudden as if there is no foresight with regards to the planning. Even for the EOY exams this year, the school has not even crafted out a proper timetable yet and are still in the midst of confirming it. (Our EOYs are in less than 2 weeks btw). Another example includes broken toilet doors (they can’t lock), general high food prices 1 small bowl of noodles is around $4 and lastly, the timetable at which where the school gives no consideration at all to students’ well being. You end literally at 5 almost everyday except on Tuesdays (on a normal weekday with CCAs). Thirdly, the school does not care about your well being or much about your holistic growth. They literally act like they care and everything but honestly they just “help” and offer solutions and advice just for the sake of doing so where deep inside they don’t truly care. Minimal School spirit or any half hearted attempt to build the School Spirit overridden by their need to keep School under control. Management is old generation style with little creativity catering to new generation.
Parents driving to pick/drop kids off need to purchase a decal. This shows the mentality of old school management.
No attempt to seek feedback from students on the curriculum planning or quality (lack of quality) of teaching staffs/departments. There can be days when students have continuous long hours of lessons with no proper breaks. Ineffective and ridiculous to assume students can continue to stay focus.
Some departments (e.g. GP, Chemistry, Econs) are infamous for their lack of quality but the school seems oblivious. The ineffective teachers get students to stay back longer hours to teach with the ineffective methods and content. Students are getting burnt out and has no time to do self study.
