Vodný Mlyn Bohunice — Attraction in Bohunice

Maria On the way to Banská Štiavnica Kalvary we stopped at Vodný Mlyn Bohunice, an ancient water-powered mill system. There we met Maria. She showed us this little paradisic location. Maria is a sweet and very kind spirit. Getting acquainted with her is part of our appreciation for this interesting spot. She told us many things, amongst others that it was okay to camp the night on the field near the entrance of the little mill museum, even for placing a tent in the enclosed museum garden. Room for maximal 4 tents to keep it nice is our estimate.

Lovely little place. Unfortunately we didn't get to see much, since as we arrived there was a big group of elderly people and we didn't see the lady which was selling entry tickets. Veľmi pekné múzeum situované v prekrásnom prostredí, pri prehliadke sme dostali perfektný výklad nielen z histórie ale aj k technickým zariadeniam mlyna. Bohunický vodný mlyn je špeciálny typ vodného mlyna s kolesom na vrchný pohon. V roku 1938 doň bola zavedená aj elektrina. V mlyne je zriadené múzeum, v ktorom sa môžu návštevníci oboznámiť s jeho niekdajším fungovaním.

Samotná budova mlyna je rozdelená na tri časti. Obytná časť je zariadená dobovým nábytkom a inventárom. Druhú časť tvorila maštaľ, ktorá je v súčasnosti zariadená ako prevádzková miestnosť a poslednou časťou je mlynica a kolesovňa, ktoré sú vertikálne členené.
