I visited this place with my friend Rika right after our college promotion. It was a calm stop on a meaningful day, but honestly, the garden itself felt a bit underwhelming. It’s relatively small and we walked through it quite quickly. There wasn’t much that stood out in terms of rare plants or impressive displays, and the whole layout felt a little plain.

That said, the entry was very cheap, so it was fine for a short, quiet stroll — especially if you're already nearby and looking for a moment of green calm. Just don’t go with high expectations.

Interesting fact: The Comenius University Botanical Garden is the oldest of its kind in Slovakia, established in 1942. It plays a key role in education and plant conservation, even if its aesthetic appeal is modest compared to larger...

It was also really nice that there were so many places to sit and relax in the garden. I’m super happy that I decided to...

It was a few minutes by local tram!!

I can’t remember exactly how much the entrance fee was, I think €4.

It’s not the biggest botanical garden I’ve been to but it’s definitely worth a visit. The greenhouse had some amazing species and things I hadn’t seen in previous gardens I’ve visited so it was well worth the money and visit.

There are toilets but no cafe, though there are machines you can buy water etc from. No gift shop either.

For a trip out of the city and a must for any fellow plant geeks, my...
