The Museum of Military History Piestany — Attraction in Piešťany

Excellent tour guide. Lots of exhibits. Must visit. We took the tour at 10:00 AM and it lasted for about 2.5 - 3 hours. There is free parking right in front of the gate and they are very punctual in starting the guided tour. Ticket (1€) purchase by cash only.

We were the only two English speaking visitors, so the tour guide decided to speak Slovakian (but he speak excellent English). We didn't understand a word but he talked nonstop for three hours, gave a lot of technical information on all the exhibits. All the exhibits are labelled in English.

The exhibits are soviet era tanks, aircrafts, and support vehicles including trucks and missile launchers. In one of the hanger there is a computer screen where you can get more information on the tanks in English.

You can take photos as you wish. You can also touch the exhibits (unofficially). Expect a bit of walking around. The washrooms were clean. The military guys posted there were restoring the planes and tanks.

This is the most intimate and casual museum on military aircrafts and tanks I have ever been to. It don't feel like a museum, it feels like a military junk yard. Definitely worth your...

An unbelievable collection of military vehicles, airplanes, weapons etc. in great condition. A must see actually. The guide (a military veteran) with a kind if specific humor explains more than just the facts about each thing. He knows the stories behind the things.

The museum is a military object one can visit only with a guide, and only few times a day. Check the tours schedule on the web page.

I only wish we had 5 times more time to properly see all the museum offers. A possibility to enter some machines would be priceless (we were told that on special events/day of open doors it...

Closed for renovation right now. Shoud reopen in September 2024. It is impressively complete museum of army equipment. Starting with fighter and cargo plains and helicopters, as the museum is hosted by ex military airfield, visitor can see much more. Tanks, canons, logistics and supply vehicles, guns and bunkers. Exhibition is partially inside and many vehicles and plains also outside. Some equipment is possible to see from inside. Great place for those interested in army, military equipment and history.
