Nice place on the planet - how it could evolve.... What is really frustrating is the way of presentation.... My take from this cave is that there was no improvement to use some innovative way of flashing of the most important/most beautiful items in this cave.... i.e. - you've got the feeling that the lights and show is exactly same as 30-40 years ago. Expect no under-ground water lakes to be seen. There is no water during the majority of the year (except spring)

Overall, you get little for the money you paid - especially when you pay for the whole family. I would like to encourage the whole management of this cave to be a little more creative, I would love to see...

a nice small and beautiful cave. people there are easy going, friendly, not too much waiting even in high season: every full hour there is a guided visit. minus one star for: slovaque only (its unesco, they get money, so ... we got an english leaflet, well... ) and no drinks, coffee, etc etc available even though the surroundings seem tourist- developed (they are just empty shells by overreaching investors). bring your own food & coffee, its worth it. photos officially cost extra but some reasonable slips with telephones are tolerated. no one actually seems to pay for...

The straw stalactites were magical to see. A miracle that they have survived and grown to the valuable lengths visible on the tour in their delicacy. Very good tour guide as well. One of my favorite caves in the area. Beautiful nature and hiking trails in the nearby surroundings also. Cheap entrance fee, no photography charge. All around good stuff.

Gombasecka cave belongs among the most important caves of the Slovak Karst national park. The tour takes cca 30-40 minutes depending on the number of people. It costs 9€/adult, you can pay only with cash. It is famous for its straw stalactites. The air temperature is 9°C, we were there in summer in shorts and T-shirts, it was totally OK. :)

This place is cool. Not a massive cave but it's a very good one, nestled in a nice bit of classic European countryside. They'll give you a funny little palm pilot for free if you need the tour in something besides Hungarian or Slovak.
