Šunikov vodni gaj is a nice round walk from the parking to Lepenjica river, cross the bridge continue up to another bridge you will pass many waterfalls, cross bridge again and come back. But if you want to see much more watefalls just near by, on the first bridg when you cross Lepenjica river turn right, in 100 meters you will arrive to next suspension bridge over Šunik stream - cross the bridge and imidiately after bridge there is a small unsigned paht - follow near the river for 100 meters then turn right to the forest and then back left to the stream where first of the waterfalls start - there is no signed path but just try to be as close to the stream - carefully as some parts are very slippery - a bit upper there is also one bridge - you can cross it to see nice canyon and few waterfalls but come back and contuine more up until the last of the waterfalls (there are minimum 8) - super...
Read moreIt took us a few minutes to figure out how to get there. At first it looked like the sign at beginning was a do not enter, but after talking it out thought it was more focused on no stopping since google maps was telling us we could drive down there. This area is actually a camping resort so after taking a quick dip with our feet in the river, we headed a little further down to the parking lot for the trail to the Watergrove. We weren’t disappointed as it too was absolutely beautiful. I climbed down to one of the pools and soaked my feet, but could only keep them in for about 30 seconds before they started going numb. There are a number of trails, but we just parked in the lot closest to the pools. Took about 10 mins...
Read moreWow, this place was a surprise! We just went here because it was close to where we were staying, but actually, this was maybe the nicest set of waterfalls I've ever visited!
You could easily get around the loop trail in 30 minutes if you didn't actually stop and look at things, but we were there for maybe 1.5hrs.
Water coming out of the rocks and moss was really beautiful, and the water was that brilliant Soča Valley colour. The waterfalls themselves were great, especially after a few days of rain. Interesting to find some of mill (we thought a mill anyway) structures as well.
We didn't have a tripod or nd filter, but I recommend it for getting those silky...
