A Jewel in the Heart of Slovenia Nestled in the pristine Triglav National Park, Lake Kreda stands as a testament to Slovenia's natural splendor. This small, yet captivating, artificial lake holds a unique charm, its emerald-green waters mirroring the majestic peaks of the Julian Alps. While its origins lie in a former clay quarry, its transformation into a tranquil haven is a beautiful example of nature reclaiming and repurposing the land. Lake Kreda, which translates to Lake Chalk, derives its name from the powdered limestone that gives its waters a distinctive, milky hue. This otherworldly color shifts with the changing light, creating a breathtaking canvas of greens and blues. A gentle path winds its way around the lake, inviting visitors to take a moment of quiet reflection, to listen to the whisper of the wind through the surrounding forest, and to simply breathe in the clean mountain air. For those who seek a moment of peace away from the bustling tourist crowds, Lake Kreda offers a serene escape. It's a place where time seems to slow down, where the beauty of the landscape fills you with a sense of wonder and calm. A visit to this hidden gem is not just a walk, but a soulful journey into the very heart of the Slovenian Alps. It's a reminder that even in the most unexpected places, true beauty...
Zaradi kopanja gline pa sta obala in dno jezera z njo prekrita. Zaradi tega se obala počasi vdira v vodo. Do 50cm letno.
