For kids 8+ only - the whole tour is quite intense with loud sound effects, shaking floors and bright lights, there are also scary parts in the last 3D film. Parts of the tour mimic escaping a real volcanic irruption. I think they should have a warning or a recommendation that it may not be suitable for young children. We opted out of the films as my almost 6 and almost 4 year old were frightened. The guide was very understanding and flexible. Apart from that everything else was fantastic. Fun and educational. My boys loved seeing the crystals and playing the educational games on the screens in the first room. All the staff were super friendly and kind. They helped us with recommendations for local restaurants ecc. The blue train ride is worth while and the guide took the time to translate everything into English for us despite us being the only ones who didn't understand Slovene. He even took the time after the train ended to retell the legend of the dragon...

What I missed in the presentation is pointing out the exact extent of the caldera on a map and maybe go into a little more detail.
