Kostanjeviska Jama — Attraction in Kostanjevica na Krki

Been here with the family ( twins, 7 years old). It is a nice drive and close by Terme Catez. The last part of the way is a small road so beware of any traffic ahead. You can park near the cave.

You can do tours every 2 hours (10, 12, 14, 16). Costs are low, tour guide speaks English and Slovenian, and the guide takes time to answer your questions. You have to watch your head, some passages are 1.5 meters only. If you have trouble using stairs this is not for you. It is 12 degrees C. all year so you might want to bring a longsleeve. Cave itself and the bats (if lucky) are beautiful. A must see when you're clase by. Tour is about 40 minutes.

Went on the first day the cave was opened, 15.04. Just after the cave was cleaned. The guides were super friendly and accommodating. The cave is surprisingly long, we spent almost an hour inside. There are lots of animals in the cave, from spiders to bats, since there is quite big bat population in and around the cave system.

This is not a museum as clasified but a cave. Entrance was destroyed in 2015 due to heavy rain but restored in 2016. There are many steps in the cave. Please see picture for opening hours and fees. From. 15. April till 31. October cave is open Saturdays and Sundays, July and August cave is opened every day from 10. till 18. and guid will take the tour every 2 hours.
