Katoliška cerkev Svetega Primoža in Felicijana — Attraction in Kranj

Some time ago I found a photo on google. A random photo! But it stuck with me, I downloaded and kept it in my phone. And recently I discovered that it was a real place and I planned a whole trip just to get to Slovenia!🫠

It's an amazing country, especially if you are an outdorsy type who loves mountains, forests and nice people! So I got to this church on my birthday!❤

I was lucky enough to see it on a sunny yet windy October afternoon; I even got to spend some time alone on the bench facing the mountains; very few people on that day, thank God! It is a really good idea to live your car on the side of the street (there is a 2 places car park next to the sign which takes you on the trail to the church and two more options for 3 cars a bit higher or lower, so very limited options to park your car😔) and then follow the path that takes you to the church!

And then hope for good weather and...

Beautiful little church surrounded by the Julian Alps. The drive alone through the small towns and Julian Alps is simply stunning. There are a few switchbacks when driving uphill but very doable. We parked in a tiny dirt parking area on the side of the main road before the sign to the church then proceeded to walk maybe 10 minutes. The views are breathtaking and when we went in early June there were fields of wildflowers everywhere (and more happy bumble bees than we have ever seen). Something out of...

Slovinsko je magické, Slovinsko je nádherné. Těžko říci, které místo je symbolem, které je symbolické či přímo magické! Pro mě je to určitě osada Jamnik s kostelem, který stvořil snad samotný bůh. Hřeben s kostelem sv. Primože a Felicijana trčí z náhorní plošiny Jelovica. Člověk zde zažije pocit, že může obejmout celou krajinu od Karavanek po Kamnicko-Savinjské Alpy, výhled i rozhled jsou skutečně impozantní. Jamnik bezesporu zaujímá první místo mezi vyhlídkami, kam stojí za to zajít. Kudy ke kostelu? Ideálně směrem od Bledu. Na světelné křižovatce v Bledu pojedeme směrem Ljubljana a na dalších světlech směrem  Radovljica. Do Radovljice však nevjíždíme, na menším kruhovém objezdu vyjedeme směrem Kropa. Kropu projedeme po hlavní silnici, která nás z ní vyvede, a pokračujeme směrem Jamnik. Cesta je to úzká, klikatá, avšak asfaltová. Serpetiny nás dovedou až na parkovací místo, spíše je to rozšířená zatáčka. Pak už budou následovat samé superlativy... osobně bych doporučoval projít si Kropu, je to nádherná kopcovitá obec a následně to zakončit u kostela sv. Primože a Felicijana.
