Herzerlstraße — Attraction in Kungota

I’ve been at this location 3 times and every time I was more disappointed.

I understand it is a private property and they can charge you for the “view” but the Staff is acting really verbally aggressive and rude from the moment you step on their terrace. Beside that prices for what they offer are way to high. For the same price or even lower you can get much better food, more food and also more visually pleasing plating. Here it looks it is all about money, they don’t even try to improve. Also whole place is a mess. And i am not saying that because of the construction works that are happening at the moment but in general.

There are plenty wineries around that offer much better experience - i.e. Doppler, Vračko, Valdhuber... Their staff for a difference makes you feel welcome and in my opinion they have much more to offer. Also their places are really taken care of. Everything looks nice, from the food to the buildings and terraces.

So if you want to see the heart, go there for a quick look, take a photo, buy a bottle of wine so you don’t get attacked by staff and then quickly move to some of the better places mentioned above and spend more...

Rip-off warning: they charge €5 per person to enter the viewing platform for the heart-shaped road, which in itself is beautiful. However, they say that this €5 ticket can be used as a vocher in the store. This is only true with a lot of restrictions. The tickets can't be added together, so each person has max €5 to spend. You also can't buy anything that cost €5 or less (e.g. marmelade, dried fruit, lavender), as the angry women in the shop will tell you. Each "eligible" item (wine, spirit, juice) is carefully priced above this €5 limit, so you have to pay extra. Everything in the store is overpriced, and the wines are absolute junk (Vivino-scores of 3.0 or less). You can't spend the voucher on drinks / food in the restaurant either. The owners are super angry, scream at tourists and don't speak a word of English. Such a disgrace.

In a beautiful area like this, there are far better places to go. I would recommend not going here, unless you are willing to pay for...

Ich würde sehr gerne Minuspunkte für die "Buschenschank" der Familie vor Ort geben! In meinem Leben ist mir so etwas noch NIE passiert! Eine derart UNFREUNDLICHE und UNHÖFLICHE Behandlung habe ich wirklich noch nie erlebt.

Wir wollten Fotos von der Herzerlstraße machen, doch es war eine Baustelle und sehr viele Menschen. Da wir uns nicht vordrängen wollten, haben wir uns auf die Liegestühle gesetzt und haben 10 Minuten darauf gewartet, bedient zu werden. Nachdem niemand kam, entschlossen wir uns dazu, zu gehen. Auf dem Weg zum Auto wurden wir dann von einer Dame vor Ort "angesprochen", was wir trinken wollen. Ich sagte ihr, dass wir 10 Minuten gewartet hätten und nicht bedient wurden und daher jetzt gehen. Dann fing sie an uns zu beschimpfen und anzuschreien. Dass wir schon Fotos machen können, aber dafür nicht zahlen etc. Für ein Foto zahlen?! Wo steht das? Wo ist die Quittung dafür?

Es war sehr, sehr unangenehm, vor allem, weil sie uns auch auf Slowenisch beschimpfte. Ich weiß wirklich nicht, was das sollte, aber das geht doch nicht! Ja, es ist ihr privater Grund, von dem aus man dann auf die Herzerlstraße sieht, aber wenn sie Geld damit machen wollen, dann sollen sie offiziell Eintritt verlangen, eine Quittung ausgeben und damit hat sich die Sache. Aber so etwas ist doch nicht normal!

Woher dieser Hass, diese Frustration, diese Geldgier?! Hatten sie so einen Ausfall wegen Corona? Ich kann doch nicht eine Familie mit Kindern anschreien, weil sie nicht bleiben wollen! Wir haben nicht einmal Fotos gemacht und wollten sehr wohl dort etwas trinken, wurden aber, wie weiter oben erwähnt, selbst nach 10 Minuten des Wartens nicht bedient, obwohl die ältere Dame, die uns ganz am Anfang „ansprach“, was wir trinken wollen, im Garten herumging und uns auch sah, jedoch nicht zu uns kam.
