One of best castles in Slovenia. The biggest in these parts, highest tower in Slovenia. Been here for 800 years but got damaged during WWII, rebuilding now, but main tower survived. The guy selling tickets was super nice, je advised searching for treasure to our kids. Never saw them so motivated in such heat but the reward was event better. They could make their own memory coin. You know that comercial for MasterCard....priceless. So while kids were out of the way we could explore in peace and enjoyed the climb and view from the tower. For lowers of animals, there are several kinds of bats here to see in the late evening. Seen none...

A small castle, not much to see. There’s a tiny museum — just two rooms with a video projector and a restroom. We paid €18 for the whole family. It was pretty windy, but we still managed to have a picnic. It would’ve been nice if they had a vending machine or a small café. At the entrance, there’s a very friendly lady explaining everything, although a simple ticket machine would’ve done the job just as well. Overall, it’s a decent place to spend a couple of...

While the castle is beautiful and relatively well-preserved, it's currently undergoing renovations and is actually closed to the public, at least during the off-season. There is a sign on the entrance that says private tours are available. Parking is somewhat of a challenge, as there is no parking lot. Luckily we had a drone and the views from the castle are stunning, overlooking the Vipava Valley. Recommend if in the area with...
