Alpaka Ranč Slovenija — Attraction in Poljčane

If you have a car and want to experience something absolutely wholesome and adorable, visit this place.

First and foremost, it is beautiful - full of animals, nature all around and a comfortable cottage-mediterranean style terrace welcoming you for a refreshing drink of water or homemade elder juice (also rośe if you’re feeling like it).

The alpacas are an absolute joy to feed, pet, observe and prance between. Some are still getting used to eating from a palm, so don’t make my mistake and switch your rings to the other hand. You will never touch anything softer in your life.

We also partook in the short felt soap workshop (an additional charge of only 3€ per soap) which I do recommend you add to your visit because it is both refreshing (you’re in the shade and dip your hands in water) and fun to do.

At the end of your visit you get a marvelously delectable plate of local cheeses and salami, homemade cottage cheese with herbs and some bread, so don’t eat too big of a breakfast, because everything is delicious!

The host/owner/tour guide is extreme kind, knowledgable, ready to help and answer all of your questions.

12/10 recommend, however do check the traffic situation before hand (closures, traffic jams, mind the rush hours) and do make your reservation beforehand as the tours fill up really fast.

I found the response to my inquiry very rude. I asked if the location was accessible for wheelchair users, and I was met with a curt answer indicating it was not, with no willingness to help further. I understand there are stairs, but I wish they had responded more kindly so I could better decide whether to visit. Additionally, while their stories on Instagram are in English, the person I spoke with responded in Slovenian. It seemed like she was having a bad day or simply lacked any empathy.

EDIT: check the screenshot of what they wrote to me AFTER I write the review here. This just prove my point! I’m not Croatian so I wrote in English. I thought they would answer in English but this is really not the big problem here. What now? I can’t write reviews on Google anymore???? This is absurd in so many levels!

This little alpaca ranch stole our heart! The place is beautiful, with a lot of different animals, but the stars are of course the Alpacas 🦙 The animals are very calm and friendly, we had a great time feeding them and getting to know them.

The ranch is also easy to find and the hosts are truly amazing! Super easy communication from the very begining, also very flexible because they squeezed us in to one of the time slots that was already fully booked. (Thank you!) They were also very open to answer all of our questions about the alpacas.
