We came to Slovenia with the main goal of visiting this beautiful place in Europe. However, the weather wasn't on our side. It also turned out that getting to the place from Ljubljana wasn’t easy. And later, we found out that leaving was just as difficult. The GPS could lead you to a dead end. In general, we had some trouble with the Waze navigation app in Slovenia. It often sent us to closed roads or dead ends. Then we tried using Google Maps, but it took us through Austria! So, a tip: always check how your GPS plans to take you. It’s better to stick to the road you came on. Otherwise, you might end up on top of a mountain with no asphalt, no guardrails near cliffs, and where the road could be blocked by construction vehicles. You’d then have to turn back, wasting fuel. But the place is really beautiful and worth the trouble. The view will stay in your memory for a long time, and you might even want to go through the difficulties again...

The small entrance fee, used to maintain the park, is worth it. Make sure to take your time to hike the trails and check out the waterfall. If you're not in a rush, you can stay a few days at eco house Na Razpotju.
I advise you to bring some water and snacks if you decide to hike the entire trail. Nevertheless, there are plenty of opportunities to stop somewhere along the way and recharge your batteries. A coffee in the Eagle's nest (with an awe-inspiring view), a homemade juice and mushroom soup at Na Razpotju were some of the energy boosters I used after hiking all day. I hope this review...
Read moreThis valley/park is beautiful. We have been there quite recently and there were no crowds at all. It was a close to nature experience as it gets. At the gate of the valley you have to pay a 7 Euros toll (cash only). Since our credit cards did not work with the local ATMs and we were out of money they were willing to let us in for free. It was such a grand gesture. After all we were able to get some coins out of our pockets and whatnot but we felt the hospitality and empathy. After all it was a wonderful experience. This place is worth to visit. The landscape changes quickly and one moment you are crossing a meadow but just minutes later find yourself in the heart of the forest. There are different paths based on your experience/time and stamina you can choose which mountain top you...
