You can walk up or drive by car almost until the top of a hill where you will find a nice bar-restaurant and the ruins of an ancient castle.
There are at least two ways to walk the hill, one is by the road and the other one it's an amazing chapel to chapel zigzag circuit almost until the top. By car you need to do just about 50 meters by feet on a semi-steep pathway to get to the top. The place doesn't seem to be equipped for invalids therefore it's not possible for them to reach the top. On the top you will find a fantastic all around view of mountains and valleys.

It passes via numerous small picturesque idyllic villages and farms along the river. Very beautiful experience up and down the hills and passing over small bridges over river Sava! A nice steep climb to the castle on the bike can be a bit challenging if not used to biking uphill but worth the experience. The hill is full of tall trees and great views from every level. The castle ruins are very small though but the view of the mountains, farms and the city far off are wonderful. There is also the Ziblje lake , very picturesque again, on the way in Medvode, nice food in Gostiće Restaurant can be a pit stop....Great for solo rides or in even in...
Read moreThe road will seem rough you but continue on. Cars are allowed and there is nice parking once you reach the castle. The castle is on hilltop with gorgeous views. You can enter the castle easily. There are informational placards in Slovenian.
To our surprise there is a lovely restaurant cafe at the base of the castle.
There is indoor and outdoor seating. Restrooms available. There is a large children playground. We were greeted by two sweet dogs likely belonging to the owners. Hard to resist enjoying a coffee while taking in the breathtaking views.
Many people seemed to be hiking up but it is a steady path uphill so...
