This was my second visit to the Cape Town Ostrich Ranch, and once again, it did not disappoint. From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed into a pristine, warm, and inviting environment. The ranch is impeccably maintained, with a strong emphasis on animal welfare and excellent husbandry. The ostriches are clearly well cared for, thriving in a spacious and healthy setting, and the opportunity to get up close, hand-feed them, and learn about these fascinating birds is an absolute delight.
The tour itself is a highlight—educational, engaging, and expertly guided by the ranch’s knowledgeable and super-friendly staff. Their passion for conservation and sustainable farming is evident, making the experience both informative and enjoyable for visitors of all ages.
Beyond the tour, the on-site restaurant is an absolute gem. The service is exceptional, and the food is nothing short of incredible—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Whether you opt for a classic ostrich steak or another culinary delight, the quality is outstanding.
The boutique is another standout feature, filled with exquisite handcrafted goods made on-site. From high-quality leather products to unique souvenirs, it’s a wonderful place to pick up something special to remember your visit.
Having returned for a second time, I can confidently say that this ranch remains a truly special place. It’s well worth the visit and an absolute must-see attraction...
Read moreThis ostrich farm is more than a farm; it’s a whole experience in what can only be described as beautiful surroundings.
It’s free to enter and the lawns are manicured for summer picnics. The restaurant serves well-prepared food and they cater for both indoor and outdoor seating.
If it’s cold, you can use one of the many blankets (and there’s a fireplace) to keep warm.
The food is tasty and the service is top class.
There’s also the store onsite selling premium ostrich leather products, gem stones, eggs and feathers. Pricing isn’t cheap, but the quality is excellent.
You can pick up bracelets for about R50 ($2) and the kids can pick gem stones from their own scratch patch for about R42 per bag.
The ostrich museum is part of a tour on offer for about R109 ($5) per person and you can get that picture of you standing on a real ostrich egg.
The farms animals outside provide entertainment for young kids and it’s safe because they are safely fenced off. I’m not so sure about the geese though ;-)
On our visit, someone had stolen all the goats, but no doubt those will be replaced.
A lovely experience, not too difficult to find and caters for a wide...
Read moreWe visited the Ostrich Farm on Sunday for Easter and we absolutely loved it! It's a stunning place with so much to do. If you have kids, this is definitely a fantastic place for them. My toddler enjoyed running on the huge grass area, playing on the pillows under the trees and the huge sandpit, and visiting the sheep, turkeys and geese. We had a lovely lunch, then we visited the BEAUTIFUL store by the restaurant. It really was stunning inside and it had a mini Scratch Patch! My daughter was very excited about that. We then did the ostrich tour which was honestly so much fun. We all loved it. A special shout out to our tour guide, John. John was really awesome and fun. We loved him! And he really has a passion for what he does. We had an fantastic time with him. Thanks again John☺️. Also thank you to the wonderful ostriches, they really are spectacular and interesting creatures. And another shoutout to our waiter, Raymond, he was also super lovely. I must say that all the staff there were some of the nicest ones I've ever met. All super friendly.
