Today 19:12:2021 i was sitting at my daughters place opposite Nantes Park there was a birthday party of a child that was 1 a security guard present escorting the lady to show where she wants the birthday party to be set up he assisted with taking the birthday goodies out of the car helping out by fetching bricks to stabilize the backdrop or the theme party..He was standing there from the start till the birthday party was over..while packing up i saw the people giving the stuff on through the fence..but what surprise me is the security guard a male standing and helping giving the stuff on while the guests walk through the fence that was opened up by the security guard for them to get quicker access to their cars that was standing in the parking area..when they was done existing the security guard personally close up the fence where he opened it for them..they got special VIP service by Nantes security while the rest who visited the park had to walk to the entrance to gain entry...just want to know are the security guard allowed to break a fence opened for people to get quicker access...
   Read moreNantes Park was named after the age old Springbok Radio drama series, DIE GEHEIM VAN NANTES. The big park was part of the Athlone Golf course. The community in the surrounding area used to frequent the park and lots of stories of things happening in the park were told, hence the naming after the drama series. Over the years the park has been upgraded and boasts the monthly NANTES PARK RUN, with it's home club, Nantes Running Club. Other running clubs from across the Cape Peninsula and further afield join us in the monthly Park Run. The park also hosts Community events such as Concerts with local artists and Markets where the Community can display and sell their arts and crafts. Named after a historic Springbok Radio programme called "Die Geheim van Nantes" (Afrikaans) translated in English is "The Secret of Nantes". Community members used to come and picnic on the lawns under the trees with their portable radios to listen to their favourite radio story/drama programme. Peaceful, a community walk in nature, trees, benches, lawn. I have seen security on site. Ideal for a family picnic...
