I will be as transparent with my opinion without the fluff so that anyone who chooses to visit Sandy Bay clothing optional beach will know what you wish to consider before going. This beach is in a remote spot with no access to amenities, including toilets. - From the parking lot, you will walk uphill about 1/4 - 1/2 mile before walking downhill on unmarked paths created by other beach goers. - You will be walking on a combination of sand, rocks, gravel and asphalt so be sure to pack water shoes for better grip in the sand especially. - On the walk down, it will be about 25ish or so minutes but on the way back up, be prepared for a challenge because you will feel the burn in your legs as you’re activating your leg muscles. Degree of difficulty 1 to 5? Down 3, Going back up 5! My recommendation is to pack light to avoid the excess weight and reserve your water for the walk back up because you will need it. Update on how instructing Uber: I later learned from a local that the Uber driver took me the wrong parking area. See the picture I posted of the correct location to instruct your Uber driver- add the SANDY BAY PARKING and from there you will walk along the coast to secluded beach. I was dropped off at the wrong spot and walked the horrid route down and back up along the mountain. - No access to toilets so avoid eating before you go to avoid the embarrassment of going in nature. Overall it’s a nice beach once at the bottom and it’s remote BUT when I factored my hike down and back up because I was dropped off at the wrong parking lot, I’d opt for another sea where it’s more convenient. I gave 4 for the scene once at the bottom and if I had to rate everything else I explained, I’d rate 1 out of 5. Hopefully you may find this informational useful. #sandybeach #sandybaybeach #clothingoptionalbeachcapetown #nudebeachcapetown

Sandy Bay is a nudist beach situated along the road between Cape Town to Cape Point and adjacent to Llandudno. Sandy Bay is not easily accessible. There are two ways to get the beach, one can clamber over the rocks from the car park at the southern end of Llandudno or take a 20-minute walk from the car park at the northern end of Hout Bay at. The car parks are rather small and parking is often insuffient - the only solution is getting there early or having to walk a little further. What a lovely beach!!! What a pleasant surprise!! Clean sand and secret!!! You have to 15-20 min to get to the beach. Easy walking path, in the nature, depending on where you want to lay down your towel. Besides the main beach (at the end), there are smaller coves and numerous spots (in the dunes or directly on the rocks) where you can enjoy the sun without having to worry about tan lines. The atmosphere is very peaceful. No hoots, no sound, no pollution, no ice cream sellers, no bars, surrounded by mountain from 03 sides ….. Only thing you can see in the front is Atlantic!!!! Remember this is a nudist friendly beach, NOT for the kids.

Quite a walk to get to the beach but worth it. The path is enjoyable with fynbos on either side. The views and nature surrounding it is amazing. Such a tranquil experience. The water is absolutely freezing. The beach is super clean and not overcrowded. Parking is an issue. If you don’t want to walk extra from your car to the path, I would uber. There is no bathroom on the beach, no vendors for refreshments and no shade. Take a cooler box with drinks and snacks as well as a gazebo if you plan on staying long. Be sure to throw your rubbish away!

Beautiful and quiet walk and main beach. Stunning views of the ocean crashing on the shore. Fauna and flora allows for exceptional photography. We even saw a Clawless Otter foraging for fish and clams. People were respectful and spaced far appart and the waves makes for exceptional surfing too. And you don't have to go nude to go there but if you do you wont be the only one that does.

Sandy Bay is a nudist beach. It boasts stunning views and icy clear waters. Surrounded by miles of sand which stretches out to the parking bay, if you're not from the area, is quite a distance and a workout at the same time. Overall, it is a lovely experience as there are hiking trails that surround the beach as well.

It was truly a wonderful beach to visit!! So clean, peaceful, picturesque, and serene. Just a few minutes there proved to be excellent for the soul, and I left the place feeling refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the day. The water is crystal clear, and the quico dip revitalized the soul.
