Truitjieskraal is on the opposite side of the valley, facing the Stadsaal caves. We opted to walk the 5.3 km from Kromrivier campsite, it is an easy walk! And beautiful. First the walk is through the farm, horses and some Cows, but then ons enters the Cape Nature section. The landscape was beautiful. At Truitjieskraal, there are different routes to meander along the magnificent rocks ! Our imagination went wild in identifying stories around the shapes of the rocks! We went early and spend around 3 hours. Take snacks and water....
   Read moreVery unusual rock formations. A lot of weird looking things coming out of the top of the rocks that make it very interesting. Just went there to sport climb but got distracted by all the tourist attractions in the area including the wall paintings. The climbing here is also some of the best I've ever done. Plenty of options and great routes. Would reccomend a 4x4 if you're trying to take the shortcut to get here from Oasis campsite. Our little car couldn't make it...

You can drive up very close to the historical sight. There are 2 pit toilets at the parking area in good condition.
