Destiny Castle in Fouriesburg — Attraction in Dihlabeng Local Municipality

We visited Destiny Castle today. We called the proprietor beforehand to book, and we were told that a sedan wouldn't make it, because there had been rain and sedans don't have a diff lock. No worries mate! We were here in my husband's GWM Steed 5. 2x4 but diff lock - sorted, right? We just loaded the family into the cab and the rest into the scoop.

Guys. The drive was one of the worst experiences of my life! My 11yo niece who was in the scoop screamed until she was literally blue in the face - but we couldn't stop! We had to maintain momentum to make it to the top! At least 4 of the 7 of us thought we'd die today. And I'm not exaggerating.

The Castle is beautiful and well worth a visit - I'd love to stay a night. Johnny was very friendly and informative. But world, heed my warning - the trip from the gate to the Castle is a 45 minute off-road adventure for experienced drivers. DO NOT ATTEMPT THE DRIVE without a Landcruiser, a Unimog, or a helicopter.

The worst experience of my live up there with a person that should not be there. I drove thru rain ,bad road , no direction etc. Got there after 220 km drive and park on the weld next to the castle. Saw a man standing outside the castle with 2 dogs. This chased me back to some line in the tall grass where I should park.i mean I was the only car there. Trying to find the where I should park when this person gave my wife and sister in law uphill. Said what demons possed us to go there. Needless too say we got in the car and left. Checking on utubeb afterwards it is a building full of furniture nothing remedial about it road up there very bad with no ditection and fallen trees scratch my car. Don't attempt...

The drive to Destiny Castle, winding past serene farms, was peaceful and absolutely gorgeous—a perfect start to an unforgettable visit. The incline up to the Castle is noticeable but completely manageable, and the reward at the top is well worth it.
