Mattanu Private Game Reserve — Attraction in Dikgatlong Local Municipality

We camped at Mattanu this past weekend. It was a great experience and is highly recommended. The landscape on the farm is very special. The hosts (Anke and Harold) and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The owner introduced himself to us and he clearly enjoys sharing his authenticity and farm with guests. Anke was a great hostess! The complimentary bag of wood per campsite was a BAG 😁. The dinner at the lodge was a treat! Try it! The view from the deck was awesome! My only critique - replace the shower doors to increase the space in the bathroom cubicles and add either a small table or a hanging storage rack behind the bathroom door where you can put your items when showering. As the saying goes difficult roads lead to beautiful destinations. The event attended this past weekend at Mattanu was evitable. This winsome destination is one where you can really relax and just be. From the staff to the owner very friendly and welcoming. I must compliment them on the work that they are doing to ensure environmental sustainability. Indeed a destination that myself and my wife will visit again. It is a highly recommendable destination for a year-end function or even just a romantic weekend for two. One of the top activities that we have done thus far is in Kimberley and its surroundings.

My classmates and I stayed here for a week as part of our veterinary school course in wildlife medicine. We all loved it. The family that owns it is incredible and the staff was so friendly! The food was delicious. I stayed in the lodge which sleeps at least six and was very clean and comfortable. Other students stayed in the tents and cabin and I heard no complaints except a heater problem in the tents one night. Game drives were great. We had one meal in their new boma which was such fun!
