As far as I know, Afrikaans is the only language in the world with monuments; what is Afrikaans memorable? At least, it resulted in the birth of a nation. Before I came to visit the Monument, I first examined the history of South Africa; After I understand the origin of Afrikaans, I feel its solemnity at the monument. Just like it said : " DIT IS ONS ERNS " In fact, everyone who speaks Afrikaans should come here; ... ... . Suggestions : From Cape Town pass through the old tunnel completed in 1948, having lunch at Du Kloof Lodge and coming back from the Huguenot Tunnel completed in 1988 was like traveling through a time tunnel; then we visited the Paarl Afrikaanse taalmonument and learned about the greatness of this country.

Absolutely beautiful. There is a fee involved with visiting, however it's well worth the price. The prices are for adults between R40 - R50 per adult. It's truly refreshing looking at the lavish scenery and the monument such a good reminder of one of South African languages. I will recommend it to anyone, couples, families, individuals who enjoys lovely green grass and big trees providing generously for those wanting to spend sometime in the shade. Great place to spend the day out or picnic on the grass and visiting the memorial monument. Safe and securely managed the welcoming any guests. The views are just simply beautiful. Do visit if out in Paarl or if just passing by. You sure to enjoy the experience.

My mom came to visit from out of town and we took her out for the day. We had never been to the Afrikaans Language Monument before and decided it would be a great idea to go show my mom and our kids. The weather was perfect and the views from the parking area were spectacular. The atmosphere was so peaceful but what impressed us the most is how well kept and secure the premises was. Everything was so clean and it was a pleasure to sit under the trees and just enjoy the beauty of the place we were at. Only little bit of constructive criticism I have is that I feel they can focus a little more on building up some souverniors related to the Afrikaans Language Monuments that one can purchase as a keepsake.

An absolutely spectacular and edifying experience. The afrikaans language is unique and newish and this monument taught me much about its origin and rich history. The monument itself is mesmerizing and set against the most beautiful backdrop of grape farms and wineries of the Paarl region. In addition, the flora surrounding the monument is a wonder unto itself, its a gorgeous garden where one can sit and enjoy a quiet lovely moment. The people who work here are so nice and hospitable. A lot of love, care and pride lives here- an amazing experience! The restaurant was nice and the milk tart, excellent 💜

I visited the Taal Monument in Paarl 31 May 2024 in the late morning with my friend, we found the staff there all very friendly. We took pictures of the monument then proceeded to the coffee shop just below the monument. There we ordered tea and scons for lunch, which was superb. We then walked around the gardens and found them to be very well looked after. There is even a playground for children below the car park and coffee shop. The views towards Cape Town where awesome. You can even see Table Mountain from the monument on a clear day.Well done Taal Monument on the upkeep!

Go and learn more about how Afrikaans became the best language in the world although it isn't spoken by the most people in the world. Interesting monument with interesting features symbolizing the different parts of the worlds that helped to create our wonderful language. Goog coffee and pizzas available at the restaurant. Come and relax with the many stargazing picnics. Beautiful views of the surrounding farmland. Play area for the kids next to restaurant and huge grass areas next to the monument itself where they can roll down for hours.
