Calais Wine Estate — Attraction in Drakenstein Local Municipality

The stay on the farm was absolutely amazing. We live in the city and having to spend Christmas there was the best decision I've made. The view of the mountains are breathtaking. Green and loving to have a outside picnic. Very safe and secure..your nearest neighbours are miles away so you can play music as loud as you like. Indoor and outdoor bbq. The family house was clean,neat and cosy. Equipped with everything one would need.There was no hammocks as seen in the pictures and the pool was out out use for the time being. As someone who uses lemons for literally everything. In my green tea. In my homemade facemasks and in my water I was really surprised to find Loads of lemon and olive trees. The dogs on the property are very calm and quiet. No barking and they are seperated from the guests so they won't bother anyone. They really adorable.We were kindly assisted my Reuben who helped us with directions in and around the farm as there are not many boards to help us navigate around. The (free) wifi speed was not to bad. Overall. I highly recommend it. Great place for the family. Keep in mind the stores and restaurants are miles away so pack EVERYTHING...

Not a good experience. Not anything like it is advertised. Really nice of you want a weekend away. However if you are touring the wine area not at all convienient. It is quiet a distance to centre of town (not 10 minutes) the check in is very inconvienient. Basically if you are planning on driving in out of the gate do not stay here. If you are there for time out and braai then enjoy it. ||For the price paid no tv connection, whatever said in the next room can be heard, no milk with coffee in the room, security not sure about etc. For R1400 a night way too much. Probably worth...
