We absolutely loved our visit at Upland. It’s a beautiful farm, off the beaten track with with wonderful landscapes surrounding it. Edmund, the winemaker and owner, told us about his passion for natural wine and brandy making. The story about how we became a winemaker was lovely. We made a little walk with him around the farm while he told us a lot about organic farming. We tasted his excellent wines and spirits. Divine! As a bonus we also had a look inside the workshop of his wife where beautiful cards are made. Highly recommend a visit!

We had an amazing and very informative tasting with Edmund Oettlé. I highly recommend visiting Upland Organic Estate. Every single wine and spirit we tasted was DELICIOUS!!! We just got back from Wellington and cannot wait to go visit again. The Wild Lemon Limoncello absolutely blew me away and I would definitely recommend tasting the Rakia along with the brandies. The wine was amazing as well! If I was a tad more irresponsible I would've left with a bottle of everything 😅

An utterly transcendental tasting experience - completely changed my understanding of brandy (it turns out I like it). Every single product from the enormous and diverse range is phenomenal and Dr Oettle a charming and highly knowledgeable host. Do call ahead to book a tasting as it’s a small family business and he’s not always in. Bring your own picnic and if you ask nicely you can have it down by their crystal clear bubbling river.

So pleased we made the trip to visit Upland Organic Estate. The first organic wine farm in SA from 1990, this is a family run business with interesting and unique organic wines and spirits that you won’t find elsewhere. We particularly enjoyed the Cab Sav and the Ministry Winston gin which has the most amazing herbaceous smell and taste. The friendly farm dogs and beautiful setting make it well worth the visit.

Best wine tasting experience I have ever had! Imagine having the full attention of the wine-maker and land-owner himself, followed by the most exquisite wines, a private cellar tour, and the exclusive use of a pristine riverside picnic spot. Extremely good value-for money, exceptional wines, exclusive and intimate experience. This is definitely a Boland best-kept-secret! Thank you Upland, we were blown away.

We had a wonderful wine tasting at Upland. Earthsong ( their South African Champagne) is utterly delightful and very drinkable. We really enjoyed the fact that it is sulfur free, organic and headache free. Its lovely to hear how each spirit is made. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable. We are looking forward to a repeat visit soon. Upland Organic Estate is well worth a visit.
