Bonza Bay Beach — Attraction in Eastern Cape

This is a pretty beach. Ideal to take your dogs for a walk or watch the Spotted Grunter hunt.

There are picnic spots to come and braai, there are parking spots right on the river, there is a life guard on duty and it has a beautiful beach to stroll on.

It isn't the safest for kids due to criminal incidents, rip tides and the river is polluted. The public bathrooms are not advisable to use.

It seems like the super slide and shop would be open in summer, but I am not sure.

One of my favourite. Hope people will respect nature over the weekends and not leave their litter behind. Municipality is doing a great job trying to keep the area clean and picnic area maintained.

Have introduced controlled access to stop people drinking and breaking glass over festive season which is great.

Please remove your rubbish after enjoying this area. Leave it beautiful for others...

As far as beaches go in South Africa, this one is very average. The parking lot area with broken down water park and random people sitting in cars felt a bit dicey. The lagoon looked dirty.
