Our adventure at Wathaba Hiking Trails was nothing short of spectacular! The morning greeted us with a touch of drizzle, but it transformed into a breathtaking 10km trek filled with picturesque waterfalls at every turn. The Cascades Waterfall was especially iconic—I couldn't resist taking a refreshing dip there!
We arrived early at 7am and had a delightful picnic by the waterfall with our lovely group. It was heartwarming to see everyone pitching in to keep the trail clean by picking up refuse. While the hike itself was amazing, a little more consolidation on rules would be helpful. The information came in bits and pieces, instead of referencing one document.
Don't forget to visit the quaint souvenir shop—they have unique items worth grabbing, but remember to bring cash.

We were a group of 15 ladies from Secunda accommodated at Wathaba and a group of 9 that joined us only for the hike. Honey Bush is a well equipped camp with solar lights and a donkey geyser and a lovely boma to share the stories of the day around the camp fire.
The mountains are always waiting to show us something new...about nature, about life but most important about ourselves. With every step you get the opportunity to let go of the noise of this world and to create space for peace, simple joy of just being.

Meditate and recuperate, it’s so peaceful, all you hear are the sounds of tranquil waterfall and animals. The accommodation is decent for a camping site, clean and fresh. It’s a self catering accommodation, they also allow day visit. You can come hike, have a Braai or picnic and enjoy the scenery. There are two trails the 10km hike which is between moderate and difficult. The 4km hike is easy to moderate. There is a small shop on a he site opened on Saturday between 2-4pm you can buy your hats, cups and tracking sticks. There are animals on the site, monkeys, donkeys and cattle.
