We thoughourly enjoyed our visit at Croc Creek. Very informative , learnt so much about the crocs. Tour guide was exceptional, very interesting and entertaining, made us laugh out loud. Great for a family outing , the kids went ballistic seeing all the crocs up close. The kiosk in the front for memorabilia items are rather pricey , perhaps if they lowered their prices they'd make a bit more money. I wanted to buy my infant a memory soft toy and for a small croc it was priced at R185. We did not eat here however they do have a menu with a few food options, we got some cool drinks and waters for the walk. Entrance fee for all of us (5) was very reasonable. Saw some massive crocs and our son and his cousin got to hold a 6 year old croc. We went on an extremely hot day so go when it's not too warm for a more comfortable experience and also you can see more crocs, on very hot days the crocs are all cooling off in the water, on cooler days they're on the land. Prams suitable for this venue , the only exception was the stairs as you enter into the "hall" where they have presentations. One can spend...
Read moreThe actual place itself is not bad. They have a restaurant which offers a croc burger. They sell really nice souvenirs. They have plent crocs, the ones that stood out were the oldest ones which were huge. The guy who gave us a tour even sat on the biggest croc. They conducted a short program which besically educated us on crocodiles and we were given the opportunity to hold a baby croc and take out pictures. The reason for my lower rating has to be due to the way into crocodile creek. We used google maps and thought that we were mistaken because it took us through a rural area. That wasn't the bad part though, it was the actual dirt roads, and uneven ground. Once you pass the rural way, you go through bushes and real bad roads (with no tar). There a lot of potholes. We actually were so deep in that it was too late to turn around. You drive through bushes, it was truly a terrifying experience getting to the location. If you have a 4x4, it might be easier for you but if you have a normal smaller car it...
Read moreTourguide very friendly and knowledgeable, lots of crocs BUT we were having trouble with the treatment of the animals. For one, the enclosures seem rather small and often just consist of a concrete pool with some grass to the side. Honestly don't know if that actually matters to crocs but it seemed a bit heartless. Secondly, and main reason for my 2 star, is again the treatment. The guide kept poking at crocodiles to show how they react effectively teasing them for our entertainment. Also, he showed a crocodile's features on a small one he carried around like a stuffed animal and gave her around so tourists could pose for pictures. We went there spontaneously after seeing the signs and my lesson from this is to not go to any animal parks without doing...
